Blackjack Basics

Blackjack is one of the most popular casino games ever played. It is so simple to learn and so complex to master. If you like card games you can play blackjack for fun, as well as a great way to earn some dollars. When playing blackjack you should always try and understand the game and its basic strategy. Although it is not considered an easy game to learn, with a little practice you should be able to raise your advantage when taking a closer look at the dealer’s up card.

Blackjack basic strategy is a simple to learn system of bet sizing. You are essentially betting how many points you want to try and get the dealer to beat you by having a higher total card value. You should always make your bet in relation to the table limit. For example, if the table is set at a $10 minimum, you may only raise your bet 1 point every 4 or 5 hands, not over 5 points every hand.

One of the most confusing things for the beginner to do is track the cards as they are played. As the cards are turned over, and as the dealer describes what could still be out, your ranks are sometimes confused, and it is easy to have your bets confused. Practice this skill at home online, and you will soon be seeing it done there.

When the excitement of receiving your card is at it’s highest, grab the opportunities available and see what the dealer has got. By repeatedly doing this, you are giving yourself a chance to win in more ways than one.

The games are not casino designed. They are not meant to breed compulsive gamblers; however, that is what they are designed for. Casino games are intended to be fun and not designed to deplete your bankroll.

The rules are simple, the cards are designed to be attractive and easy to handle, not difficult and not designed to intimidate. It is easy to learn and keep track of.

The value of the cards at the beginning of the game is much lower than the value of the cards at the end. For example an A-5 is the lowest value as it is the card most likely to be beaten. Therefore, it is important to raise your bet when you have a strong hand, a hand that will badly beat the dealers hand, such as a pair of aces. You raise because you want to make the dealers pay to see any more cards. If you have no hand, or if the face up card is something like an ace, you should consider only calling or folding.

On the other hand, if you are holding a pair of kings, you would probably fold even though an ace could beat you, because the odds are greatly in the dewapoker favor.

If you are holding an ace-queen (A-Q), you would also fold, because the two cards are very unlikely to be the same, and anyone with a Q will beat you, even if the ace kicker flops.

However you should still be aggressive. When you see two high cards you should also consider raising, especially if the board has a straight or flush draw, and especially if you are aggressive.

However, you should not be aggressive just to be aggressive. If you have a high pair, consider folding before putting any money in the pot.
